The latest edition to the Roadshow is this fantastic trailer to haul the astronomy equipment!

Astronomers at Fisk and Vanderbilt Universities, and the historic Dyer Observatory, are now providing a traveling exhibit and planetarium show, free of charge, to educational institutes in and around the greater Nashville area.

The Fisk-Vanderbilt Astronomy Roadshow consists of a mobile, inflatable planetarium and space science exhibits, bringing the excitement of astronomy and space science to schools and community groups in middle Tennessee. The Roadshow is part of the Fisk-Vanderbilt Astronomy and Space Science Training (FASST) Program.

By projecting a representation of the night sky onto the
planetarium dome's interior, we are able to teach students/adults about the Sun-Earth-Moon system, the solar-system planets and their motions, the constellations and Greek mythology, the nature of stars and many other celestial phenomena in a fun yet informative manner.

If you represent a school, community or educational institution in the state of Tennessee, and would like to request an astronomy presentation using our planetarium, please fill out the request form, and we will contact you in due course to arrange an appointment. There is no charge for our educational services.
