Bringing the Observatory to the Classroom

A dynamic collaboration between Vanderbilt University Virtual School, The Vanderbilt University Center for Science Outreach, and Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory has produced an exciting series of videoconferencing offerings geared to High School students for Spring 2004. The CSO has provided Dyer Observatory with an Internet-capable videoconferencing unit, allowing us to interact in real time with students all over the country. For the academic school year 2004-2005, we are proud to offer Videoconferencing Interactions with Astronomers at Dyer--VIA Dyer!

Click either picture on the right to view a brief Quicktime slideshow of one such offering. View a Windows Media sample of another interaction here. To get more information about the series, please check the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration's scheduled programs (search "Dyer" in the Program Search field).
