School Field Trips
Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory is a wonderful way for teachers to supplement their space and science curriculum. The observatory is open to public, private and home-schooled children.

A typical visit includes a presentation by Dyer personnel with an opportunity for students to ask questions. They can tour the dome, and weather permitting, view the sun through a solar telescope.

Dyer Observatory is closed to the public during December through February. Field trips can be scheduled during the remaining school months, during business hours for a nominal fee per child. Please contact Nancy Dwyer at 615/373-4897 for reservation availability or via email at nancy.dwyer@vanderbilt.edu.
