Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory is open one evening per month for telescope viewings. These monthly events are called "Exploration Nights." Our regular Exploration Night is geared for teens and adults, while Kids Exploration Night is for children ages 6-12. Please see our calendar for more details.

The Observatory grounds are also open Monday through Friday (excluding special events) from 8:30 to 4:30 pm for visits to the outdoor Star Chamber. (For more information, please see our calendar.) Please call the Observatory at 615-373-4897 before you plan to visit to ensure that staff is on site and the Chamber is open. The observatory is available for rent if the weather is suitable.
